PWD has created a special wing named PIU ROB in the year for construction of Road over Bridges (ROBs)/ Road under Bridges (RUBs) under “Setu Bharatam Programme '' in the state of West Bengal. “Setu Bharatam Programme '' aims to make all national highways free from railway level crossings. This wing has started their journey for construction of 20 ROBs throughout the state.

These 20 numbers RoBs/ RUBs projects in the state of West Bengal are situated in the districts of Paschim Medinipur, Bankura, Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Birbhum, North 24 Parganas and Jalpaiguri. Head Office of this wing is located at Kolkata headed by a Chief Engineer and there are several zonal offices for implementation and monitoring of the projects which are South Zone at Barasat, West Zone 1 at Bishnupur, West Zone 2 at Suri and North Zone at Matigara, Siliguri.
